In hunter x hunter canon, pre-ant pouf was an apprentice servant for the kutsuki family. lyra, the third-born daughter, was around the same age as him. the two grew a close friendship growing up alongside eachother. in particular, lyra loved to hear him play the violin. it was the only thing that could get her to rest at night.the relationship became of concern to the family's head, having human-pouf exiled to the Republic of East Gorteau, to be completely isolated from being able to ever contact lyra, or the rest of the family again. during this time is when he was attacked by a soldier ant, and found his soul bound to his present royal guard form.

"let me play you a song"my relationship with pouf has been a heavily convuluted one ~ hehei honestly couldn't stand him, he used to piss me off so bad!!but through the years, i've grown to cherish his character a lot more, and he's brought me a lot of happiness especially in recent times :) enough so for me to be proud to admit that i yume him ~

In my yumeverse, lyra is able to recognize pouf's former self beyond his ant-form, and fights her hardest to get him to remember her.in the canon-verse, this ultimately ends up being what kills himin my "i wanna be delusional and happy" verse :) she ends up convincing him to run away with her while she tries to search for someone to restore him to his previous formeven unable to do so, the two love eachother very deeply and not even death can do them part
